Cidadã do Mundo por vocação, Sheila Moura Azevedo encontra na viagem e na descoberta de novas culturas a inspiração mais profunda para o seu trabalho.
Nascida em São Paulo, no seio de uma família portuguesa com alma nómada, cresceu entre influências do Oriente e do Ocidente, marcada pela cor, pela música e pela alegria vibrante de viver.
O design fez sempre parte da sua vida — presente em casa, na família e no olhar curioso com que, desde cedo, percebia o equilíbrio entre formas, cores e texturas. Naturalmente, nasceu o desejo de desenhar casas e criar lugares com significado.
Em Portugal, estudou na Escola Artística Soares dos Reis, no Porto, e mais tarde licenciou-se em Design de Interiores e Mobiliário na ESAD, em Matosinhos, em 2002. Ainda enquanto estudante, integrou um gabinete de projetos, onde começou a ganhar experiência no terreno.
Em 2006 funda, juntamente com o marido, o ShiStudio — atelier que dirige desde então, unindo o seu olhar criativo ao pensamento estratégico.
Nunca deixou de estudar, acreditando que o conhecimento é uma ferramenta de transformação. Formou-se em áreas complementares como Contabilidade e Gestão, Programação Neurolinguística, Coaching e Psicologia.
Entre leituras e formações, dedica-se também a temas como Arte, História e Filosofia — interesses que alimentam a sua visão holística do design.
O seu foco, desde sempre, é o mesmo: o Ser Humano.
Interpretar pessoas é o ponto de partida de cada projeto. Compreender quem são, como vivem, o que sonham. Porque só assim é possível criar espaços com alma — verdadeiros reflexos de quem os habita.
Atualmente lidera uma equipa multidisciplinar com 15 profissionais e assina projetos espalhados por Portugal e pelo mundo, sempre com a mesma missão: desenhar o equilíbrio que cada pessoa procura encontrar no espaço que chama de casa.
A true Citizen of the World, Sheila Moura Azevedo finds her deepest inspiration in travel and in the rich tapestry of cultures she encounters along the way.
Born in São Paulo to a Portuguese family with a long history of living across continents, she grew up between East and West — shaped by colour, rhythm, and a vibrant zest for life.
Design has always been part of her universe — present at home, in the family, and in the natural way she observed the harmony between shapes, colours and textures. From a young age, she dreamt of drawing houses and giving form to emotions.
In Portugal, she studied at the Escola Artística Soares dos Reis in Porto, later earning a degree in Interior and Furniture Design from ESAD in Matosinhos, in 2002. Even as a student, she gained early experience working in a design studio in the same city.
In 2006, together with her husband, she founded ShiStudio — the interior architecture and design atelier she still leads today, blending creative vision with strategic thinking.
Her thirst for learning never waned. Over the years, she has expanded her knowledge in areas such as Business Management, NLP, Coaching, and Psychology. Her personal library, filled with works on Art, History and Philosophy, reflects her passion for exploring the human condition.
At the heart of her work is always the same core: the Human Being.
She believes that to create meaningful spaces, one must first interpret people — understand who they are, how they live, what they dream of.
Only then can design truly serve its purpose: to reflect identity, to bring balance, to welcome the soul.
Today, she leads a multidisciplinary team of 15 professionals and signs off on projects across Portugal and around the world — all of them bound by a single mission: to design spaces that feel like home.
